      About Us

      Cache Sports Media is the brainchild of Valley products, Tim Olsen and Nate Laursen. Though currently in its infancy, its ultimate goal is to provide unparalleled sports coverage to the high schools located in Cache Valley, as well as Utah State University. With the journalism landscape changing, the goal of Cache Sports Media is to embrace the new era of media coverage while maintaining its local importance. From photo galleries, to post game video footage, to social media, CSM will provide a new type of experience to fans, parents, and athletes alike.

       

      Tim Olsen is a 2003 graduate of Sky View High School, a 2009 graduate of Utah State University, and a 2011 graduate of Syracuse University. He graduated from Utah State with a degree in journalism, and during his time there he served as the sports editor for The Utah Statesman. Tim also worked for The Herald Journal as a sports writer for three years during his time at USU. At Syracuse, Tim completed his master’s at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. While there, he worked as an intern in the sports department of the Post-Standard, as well as serving as the lead sports producer for TheNewsHouse.com. Along with various high school sports, Tim has also covered NCAA tournament games, NBA games, and the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden. He currently lives in Smithfield, Utah.

       

       

      Nate Laursen is a 2002 graduate of Mountain Crest High School, and a 2009 graduate of Utah State University. He graduated from Utah State with a dual-degree in journalism and political science. During his time at USU, Nate worked in the advertising department for The Utah Statesman, as well as writing multiple articles for various departments of the paper. He has been working in advertising since graduating from USU, and currently lives in Hyrum, Utah.
