The Aggies are on a tear as of late, and advanced to the championship game of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament with a 105-81 win over Oakland.   Ignited by a 3-point barrage, the Aggies jumped all over a very talented Oakland team – highlighted by the nation’s leading scorer, Reggie Hamilton – and rolled to the easy victory.   “Everything looks easy when you make...

Bulldogs Oust Aggie Men From Tourney, 72-70

LAS VEGAS— It’s hard to beat the same team three times in one season, and the USU men’s basketball team found that out firsthand Thursday night as the Aggies fell to Louisiana Tech in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference tournament, 72-70.   Utah State had a chance to tie or win after the Bulldog’s Trevor Gaskins missed a free throw with 4.1 seconds remaining, but the Aggies did not get a shot off before time expired. With no timeouts remaining, Kyisean Reed rebounded the miss and...

LOGAN— The Utah State men’s basketball team played in its first ever non-televised ESPN BracketBuster game. They’re a veteran team and they showed it.”   Utah State controlled the...

Poor Execution Dooms USU In 80-69 Loss to NMSU

LOGAN— “It is pretty obvious that we are good enough to play in a lot of close games. We are not good enough to win them.”   That’s how Utah State men’s basketball coach Stew Morrill summed up the Aggie’s loss to New Mexico State Saturday, and the season as a whole, after USU lost to NMSU, 80-69.   New Mexico State closed the game on a 15-3 run to win going away, and record its first win at the Spectrum since 2006. Despite recording a relatively low 10...
