        LOGAN— Coming off of a bye week, the rust was evident Saturday, as miscues doomed the Logan Stampede in a 34-20 loss to the Utah Shock.   “Mistakes.       Stampede Fall to Dixie Rebels, 35-22, in Home Opener

      LOGAN— In their first home game of the season, the Logan Stampede hosted the Dixie Rebels Saturday night. The Rebels proved to be too much for the Stampede as they won the game, 35-22.   The Rebels wasted little time putting points on the board, as they were able to score on their first play of the game.       USU Athletics Unveils New Brand & Identity Program

        LOGAN— Saturday, Utah State University Athletics Director Scott Barnes, along with distinguished Utah State Alumna and Nike President Charlie Denson, introduced a program-wide athletics brand and identity program during a press conference on the Logan campus.   The University worked with Nike in collaboration on a 15-month re-branding campaign that launched prior to the annual Blue-White Spring Football Game on April 28.       USU’s Wagner Drafted by Seattle in Second Round

        LOGAN— Former Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner became the highest USU player to be taken in the NFL Draft in more than 30 years as the Seattle Seahawks grabbed him in the second round with the 47th overall pick.   Wagner was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Aggies, and led the team in tackles for during his final three seasons.   With Wagner coming off the board in the second round, it marks the second straight year that Utah State has had the first player selected...

          BOISE— Tyler Tettleton scored from half a yard out with 13 seconds left to help Ohio take its first lead of the game and cap a comeback win over Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, 24-23.   Tettleton completed 19-of-26 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed 16 times for 58 yards and the go-ahead score.       DENVER— Utah State running back Robert Turbin was named the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, the WAC announced Monday.   Turbin, a junior from Fremont, Calif., is currently 10th in the nation in rushing with 118 yards per game and is fifth in scoring with 11.5 points per contest. Turbin has rushed for 1,416 yards and 19 touchdowns on 229 attempts for an average of 6.2 yards per carry. He has caught 16 passes for 164 yards and four more touchdowns.
