      MC Stomps Roy, 8-1, in Regular Season Finale

        ROY— The Mountain Crest Mustangs travelled to Roy to take on the Royals Friday in the last game of the regular season. Despite the Royals battling for the final playoff spot in Region 5, the region champion Mustangs had no problem, winning 8-1.   “It was a good overall outing for us,” Mountain Crest head coach Steve Hansen said.   Ben Weese won the game on the mound for the Mustangs, pitching seven innings and only allowing a single run.         HYRUM— After all was ran and thrown in the Region 5 Track and Field Championships, the Mountain Crest girls squad walked away as champions.   “It’s exciting. These girls have worked so hard,” MC head coach Rob Thomas said. “The girls stepped up and finished. They wanted it. They’ve worked so hard to get it.       Logan Tennis Takes Region, SV Third, MC Fourth

        ROY— The three valley schools all travelled to Roy Wednesday to play in the Region 5 Tennis Tournament. Logan emerged victorious, winning with 45 points. Bonneville took second with 39 points, Sky View finished third with 28 points, and Mountain Crest finished fourth with 20 points.           SMITHFIELD— One day removed from a late-inning rally at Roy, the Bobcats’ comeback bid fell short as the lost to the Royals at home for the second time this season, 6-5.           HYRUM— The Logan Grizzlies were able to get the 1-0 victory over Mountain Crest Wednesday afternoon on Senior Day for the Mustangs. With the win the Grizzlies put a halt to the Mustangs 12-game winning streak.
